Rules

Clean up…

Changes save when you leave a box. Site: which addresses (e.g. https://example.com/*, 192.168.1.*, 10.0.*/cgi-bin/luci, or a regex like /^https?:\/\/10\./). Field: a CSS selector (#user, input[name="email"]) or LA:/regex/ to match a field's name, id or label. Value: text, true/false for tick boxes, {{profile.email}} or {{snippets.sig}}.

Clean up rules

Finds copies (including the same rule written two ways), rules that can never fill, and rules left behind by a deleted profile. Nothing changes until you click Clean up, and you can undo it.

Test an address

Paste a page address (or an IP like https://192.168.1.20:8443/login) to see which rules apply there.

Profiles

Each rule belongs to a profile; only the active profile's rules fill. Use them for, say, Personal and Work.

Profile data

Reusable values as JSON, e.g. {"firstName":"Alex","email":"alex@example.com"}. Use them in rule values as {{profile.email}}. Avoid putting passwords here.

Snippets

Type the trigger in any text box (e.g. ;sig) and it turns into the text. Also usable in rule values as {{snippets.sig}}.

Settings

Keyboard shortcut for Fill now: – (change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts).

Import & backup

Backup (everything)

Rules, profiles, snippets and settings in one file. Contains your saved passwords: keep it somewhere safe.

Rules as CSV

Columns: site, selector, value, profile. Importing adds to your rules (same site + field is replaced).

From Lightning Autofill

Their CSV export: rules and profiles. Field names match a field's name, id or label; sites keep Lightning's wildcards and /regex/.

Help

  1. Save a form: fill it in yourself (username, password, anything), right-click inside it → Save this form. A note at the top of the page says what was saved.
  2. Fill it next time: it fills by itself when the page opens (if that setting is on), or click the toolbar icon → Fill now, or press the shortcut, or right-click → Fill this page.
  3. One field only: right-click the field → Save just this field.
  4. The toolbar number is how many rules this site has.
  5. Something doesn't fill? Use Test an address to check the rule's site pattern, and turn on Debug messages to see what happens on the page.
