Privacy
The short version: we don't track you, and your rules and passwords never leave your computer.
The tools
- FreeFiller and FreeRefMod run entirely inside Chrome. Your rules, profiles, snippets and saved passwords are kept in Chrome's own storage on your computer. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
- New-version check: once a day, each tool asks thelabs.fyi for the latest version number. That request carries no information about you or your rules; it's like visiting one page of this website (see below). You can turn it off in each tool's settings.
- Passwords: FreeFiller stores the passwords you save the same way Chrome stores other extension data: on your computer, not encrypted. If other people use your computer account, turn off Include passwords when saving a form in FreeFiller's Options.
- Permissions: each tool's page lists the Chrome permissions it asks for, with a plain explanation of why.
This website
- No analytics, no ads, no tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts or fonts.
- Like every web server, ours keeps a log of visits (internet address, time, page and browser). We use it to keep the site running, to block attacks, and for our own visitor statistics, like which pages are popular and roughly where visitors come from. It stays private on our server and isn't shared with anyone.
- If you email us or use the contact form, we keep your message so we can answer it, and that's all we use it for. The form also notes your internet address so we can stop spam (no more than a few messages an hour from one address).
